When and Where

Zazen (seated meditation) begins at the times listed below.

The sessions are broken up into 25 minutes blocks of zazen followed by 5 minutes of kinhin (walking meditation). The first block usually begins with a period devoted to sutra chanting.

Longer periods of meditation (called zazenkai) are held on the last Saturday of the month from 9am to 1pm. These sometimes include either a talk, or a discussion led by an experienced member of the group.

The group also sits from 7pm-10pm on the Friday closest to the full moon. Full moon sits include a brief ceremonial reflection on the Ten Grave Precepts, and a half hour period of free-form kinhin. See the Calendar for dates.

Donation: we recommend $5 per session ($3 concession) or $6 per week ($4 concession) if you are sitting more than once a week.

TIMES

Tuesday evening zazen: 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

*On the first Tuesday of every month, zazen finishes at 8pm to allow time for Dharma Sharing.

Saturday morning zazen: 10am to 12pm.

*Saturday zazenkai (last Saturday of every month): 9am to 1pm. Dates for the following year are listed in the Calendar.

Friday evening full moon zazen: 7pm-10pm (only on the Friday closest to the full moon. See Calendar for the dates).
