Form Guidelines for Online Sits
- Maintain the form as if you are at CERES or sesshin.
When it’s time to sit, sit. When it’s time for kinhin, walk (if space allows), or stand. When it’s time for tea – drink tea.
- If you can’t commit to an entire sit, please enter / leave the Zendo during kinhin. Please don’t enter / leave at any other time.
- Please make sure your sound is muted when you enter the zendo (small microphone symbol, bottom left of the screen – you may need to hover your cursor to see it ). Keep your sound muted during chanting and zazen.
Supporting Our CERES Lease
The MZG’s lease agreement with CERES continues regardless of whether or not we use the Learning Centre for our weekly sits – and CERES relies on the income from this arrangement to help support their running costs, including their various community initiatives
Usually we cover lease costs through bowl money collected at weekly sits. We can’t physically collect bowl money at present, so are asking sitters to instead deposit contributions directly to the MZG bank account.
For convenience you may like to make a monthly contribution, or even a three-month contribution.
Suggested sitting contributions –
- one week $5 or $3 concession
- one month $22 or $12 concession
- three months $66 or $36 concession
Please use the reference bowl money when you make your deposit.

Join using Computer, Tablet or Smartphone app
To Join the Zoom Zendo – click on the relevant Direct Zoom Link at the top of this page.
If you you’ve never accessed Zoom before, you’ll be prompted to download and install Zoom. Follow the prompts to install zoom onto your computer / tablet / smartphone – and then click on the zendo link again.
If you have Zoom on your Computer/tablet/smartphone, clicking on the zendo link will bring up a small pop-up that asks if you want to open zoom.us – say yes!
Zoom will connect you – and may ask if you want to join with computer audio – say yes!
Your default screen on entering the Zoom Zendo may look something like this –
This screen means that you are in the Zoom Zendo – with video muted.
If you hover your cursor over the screen, you’ll see an option to mute / unmute sound and video the bottom left hand corner – unmute your video.
Please keep your sound muted during zazen and chanting. Also keep your sound muted at other times when you are not speaking (eg. during dharma sharing and tea-and-chat). This helps minimise sound feedback problems.
Join using dial-in phone
To access the Zoom Zendo – dial the zoom phone number – and then enter the relevant meeting ID and password when promoted. That’s it – you’re in.
